Our Little Lovebug

Sunday before Halloween was really nice (um...like 50 degrees...that's nice, right??) so we went down to Creekside in Gahanna to take pictures of Mackenzie in her Ladybug costume.  Yes, my sweet thing had to be dressed up three days straight.  We mostly just wanted to get outside, but we might as well take pictures if we're at the park!  And she may, or may not, have worn that costume to Target afterwards.  :)

I had to add this picture because Waylon has her babydoll in his pocket...

Mackenzie got really excited when an older couple walked by.  She waved SO big!

This face makes me laugh!

Gahanna's most unsafe bridge...

Mackenzie LOVES her babydoll!

Love this face!

Sorry for the picture overload (unless you're a grandparent...then, you're welcome!).  Just one more post from the pumpkin patch and then I'm done with Autumn pictures.  But by then we'll be to the holidays...so just get ready! :)

15 Months

10/28/11
Mackenzie baby,
You are 15 months old!  Every month, I say the same thing...how are you getting so big? Time is flying by too quickly.  You are so amazing and I love life through your eyes!!

We went to the doctor today (11/7/11) for your check-up.  You weigh 24 pounds (73%) and are 32.25 inches tall (95%).  You also had to get three shots, but you did very well.  You carried your llama with you and he gave you much comfort!

  • You drink all your milk out of sippy cups now.  I was holding out on your last bottle before bed but I thought maybe you had a milk allergy so I withheld milk for a day and didn't give you a bottle.  I didn't know your last bottle was going to be your last bottle, or I would have cherished it a little more.  I was SO sad knowing you won't ever have a bottle again, but I know you like being a big girl.
  • Since you don't get a full bottle before bed, we also don't wake you up to change you anymore.  I really miss that...it was the only time you snuggled with me.  Sometimes I just go change you anyway so I can hold you.
  • You go to bed around 7-7:30pm and wake up around 8:15-8:30am.
  • You started sleeping with a blanket this month and now you carry it around sometimes.  You almost always have to be picked up with it in the mornings.
  • You LOVE your baby dolls and exploring the kitchen and laundry room.  You also enjoy the pantry quite a bit!
  • You give sweet hugs to mommy and daddy, as well as to Max.
  • You still take two naps, although the second one is more of a quiet time in your crib.  Sometimes you sleep; sometimes you just sit there.  Even if you don't sleep, you feel refreshed afterwards.  We occasionally skip the second nap but you are happier with it.
  • You can reach the door handles now so you really like to open doors.  The one to the garage seems to be your favorite, but the beep on the alarm scares you so you close it quickly.  You also like to open the bathroom door if someone is in there....
  • You wear 18 months clothes, but some 12 months still fit. You wear a 4.5W in shoes (Stride Rite).
  • You like things you can climb on and you are not scared of anything yet.
  • You love all fruits, bread, and cheese.
  • You like anything that can be worn like a purse or bracelet.  You are VERY girly!
  • Your hair is slowly but surely coming in.  It's mostly in the back so you have a sweet baby mullet.  I love it!  The "long" part seems to be curly so I am curious to see if you have curly, wavy, or straight hair.
I love you SO much! I just want to cuddle and snuggle with you all day but you just want to run and play.  I hope someday you let me snuggle....I'll be waiting!!

Boo at the Zoo

We went to Boo at the Zoo two weekends before Halloween and Mackenzie had her first "boat ride" and/or her first "amusement park ride!" The little ride just takes you through some of the different animals so you can see them closer. She also had to past her first "test." The ticket girl asked if she could walk and we said yes. Then she said she had to actually see her walk. The thing with Miss Mackenzie is once she's down, she doesn't want back up (we had to leave after the boat ride because she did NOT want to get back in the stroller...).

She's such a BIG girl...she had to sit in her own seat and wear her own seatbelt!

Nope, HATES it!!

Momma brought a binky!

The seatbelt provided entertainment for most of the ride.

Wait, she's showing some interest...

And...she's over it...

Post-Halloween Pictures

This afternoon Mackenzie and I went outside to take some pictures in her Watermelon costume because I didn't get many good ones from last night.  I had planned on doing them yesterday afternoon but we got to have a little playdate instead (nothing like going to get the mail and ending up at the neighbor's house for the next hour).

I didn't get any great ones today either but at least it was sunny!

Trying to get Mackenzie to look at the camera is SO hard!  And, in 95% of the pictures, she has that tootsie roll in her mouth (that was a GENIUS idea...).  I took 136 pictures and these were the best I got...most were of the back of her head or with a mouthful of candy.  Thank goodness my camera has two memory card slots! :)

Trick-or-Treat 2011

We had a great Halloween with our little Watermelon!  We did not actually go door-to-door because Mackenzie doesn't actually eat candy and I think it's a little weird when people collect candy for their baby! :)

Instead, we passed out candy as a family.  We did take a minute to go next door to see our friends Sabrina, Rich, and Zane who is 10 months old.

Mackenzie saw a dog and took off after it so Waylon had to chase her down the sidewalk!  This is right before she fell from running too fast:

This is Mackenzie's super-excited face!  I love it!

She held onto the same two pieces of candy the entire night and sometimes put it in her mouth.  At the end of the night, we realized she had chewed on it enough to get some of the flavor out of it.  So she did end up getting a little treat!

My only picture

I had MAJOR problems with my iPhone yesterday and lost everything on it. It wouldn't turn on and when it did, it said to connect to iTunes. I did and my only option was to restore which meant it would delete everything on it. I had over 1900 pictures and videos on my phone. Now I only have one. Derek sent it to me this morning.

First Kid's Meal

Yesterday I had to run to the bank and post office so I decided to go to Chick-Fil-A and get Mackenzie her first kid's meal. I didn't give her the juice and she only ate two nuggets and two French Fries but she liked it anyway. :)

Hi Baby

Last week I went to Target after Mackenzie went to bed and bought diapers. Since she was asleep, I just dropped them off in the hall outside her room. Now every time we go to her room, she stops and says "hi dada" to the baby on the box and touches his face. (dada=baby) It's so sweet that I've just left the boxes there until we need them. :)

Love My Girl

We had a nice fall day today so we went outside this afternoon to take some pictures.

Smiling and clapping at the neighbors...

Squatting because Mommy was squatting to take pictures...

Copying Mommy because Mommy was trying to get her attention...
