Snowy Weekend

We got a ton of snow this weekend! It started around 10am Friday and continued until Saturday afternoon. Most of it came Friday during the day. Waylon came home around 1pm and worked from home.

Waylon and Max played outside for a long time...and Maxy was a tired boy afterwards!!

Friday night we started changing the office into the nursery. Waylon got the furniture out and now it's my job to get all the little stuff out that needs to be thrown away/organized/put away. We moved the office stuff to the loft but then discovered the only phone jacks are in the Master bedroom and the nursery.

The roads were fine by Saturday afternoon so we went to get our oil changed and to Lowe's to get some supplies for Waylon's phone "project."

We spent all day Saturday working on getting the phone line connected in the loft but let's just say that didn't work out so well. We ended up going to Max and Erma's for some tortilla soup (and another bowl of pickles) and going to Target.

Sunday we were planning on going to look at some desks and ended up purchasing the first one we saw. It took up 4 huge boxes that weighed about 100-120 pounds each. Needless to say, I couldn't help much. Thankfully, our neighbor came over to thank Waylon for clearing his driveway (he works in Cleveland and only comes home on the weekend and was snowed in up there until Saturday night). He is a former OSU football player so he had no problem helping Waylon carry those boxes upstairs.

We spent the rest of Sunday putting the desk together and watching the SuperBowl.

Max had a rough weekend...he is not enjoying this much snow! At first he loved running in it but then it got so high that it comes up to his belly. He looks like he is trying to swim in it! So sad! Then, when the snow started getting hard, he could walk on top of it, but he would fall through and it would scare him. THEN, the snow starts to freeze onto his paws, so he lies down and starts biting at his paws. He refuses to get up and it's cold out there! So we decided to put his booties on before he went out but he managed to lose one...Waylon and I both have looked all over the yard for it but can't find it. We're supposed to get up to 9 more inches so I'm pretty sure I won't find it until March! Other than Max's snow issues, he also was very concerned about all the furniture moving going on this weekend and Waylon accidentally dropped a piece of the computer on Max's poor head.  He was also upset about seeing Waylon pack his suitcase.  Poor Maxwell!!

Max says he's ready for spring!!!

We're supposed to have another storm tonight...dropping up to another nine inches of snow on top of all this!  The weatherman said it will be a 48 hour event.  It's not like Arkansas where the storms move through relatively quickly...  And I haven't figured out the path of storms here either.  In NWA, they always come from Oklahoma.  Here, they seem to come from Indiana but they also move north from Kentucky or whatever state is south of us!  Weather is kind of strange here..........!

And I just saw this:

8. City: Columbus
Average Annual Temperature: 52.9°F
Average Precipitation: 38.5 inches
Average Snowfall: 28.2 inches
Columbus is Number 8 on Forbes' Worst Winter Weather Cities list......NICE!!!
